Learning Objectives

By the end of this lecture, the participant will be able to

  • Understand the need for expanding the current HIV clinical workforce.
  • Discuss how to use an educational model or postgraduate training model to train new NPs to integrate specialty care for key populations.
  • Learn the fundamental components of these two major HIV training models implemented at a community health center.

  • Gain awareness of importance of integrating other key populations competencies in HIV programs (e.g. HCV, SUD/MAT, LGB and Transgender health, Homelessness).
  • Discuss strategies for implementation of similar training programs at other clinics.
