Applying Cultural Competence and Cultural Humility

Module Information

Cultural competence skills allow us to challenge our assumptions about others, learn more about different cultures, and improve our interactions with diverse social groups. Cultural humility challenges us to dig deeper than cultural competence. Through a lifelong commitment, cultural humility gives us the tools to continue to learn and reflect on how our own cultures intersect with other cultures.

This module includes real life examples and every effort has been made to represent as many marginalized groups as possible. The goal of the module is to provide learners with practical strategies for self-reflection, active listening, and creating inclusive environments that honor the unique experiences and perspectives of individuals from various cultures.

Module Length

This module takes approximately 20-30 minutes to complete.

Target Audience

This module is appropriate for all clinical and non-clinical team members.
