
Brightline: Diagnostic Evaluation and Feedback
Program Information
The Diagnostic Evaluation and Feedback training covers several important topics relevant to conducting a thorough and accurate diagnostic evaluation as well as presenting the findings and recommendations to the youth and family in a collaborative feedback session. Viewers will learn about structuring a diagnostic evaluation, using semi-structured interview tools, engaging in differential diagnosis, establishing medical necessity, and providing informative and supportive feedback. The training walks through specific helpful tools that can be used to support a diagnostic interview, including the DIAMOND-KID and the Anxiety Disorders Interview Schedule.

Learning Objectives
Upon completion of this activity, participants should be able to do the following:
- Recognize and compare specific semi-structured diagnostic interview tools.
- Identify criteria to distinguish between disorders with similar symptoms.
- Apply the diagnostic manual criteria to establish medical necessity.
