Jennifer Aufiero, Jennifer Aufiero, PsyD, LCSW
Jennifer Aufiero, PsyD, LCSW, is a staff psychologist, as well as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, at the Meriden site. Dr. Bumpus obtained her Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from Saint Joseph College, her Master’s degree in Social Work from the University of Connecticut, and went on to earn her doctorate in clinical psychology from Antioch University New England, in Keene, NH. Dr. Bumpus’s generalist training included work with clients across the life span, at diverse settings such as: a therapeutic day school in urban CT, an adolescent residential facility in rural NY, and the VA healthcare system. Dr. Bumpus joined CHC as a member of its 2nd Postdoctoral Resident class, supervised by Dr. Ramos in Meriden, where she has remained since. Her clinical interests include the roles that race, racial/cultural identity, gender and social class play in the disparate access to quality mental health care, as well as to justice/advocacy in the court system. At CHC, Dr. Bumpus works with clients across the life span, but has particular interest in working with women, children, and family systems, who struggle with mood disorders, interpersonal trauma, post-traumatic stress, and life stage/role transitions. Additionally, she supervises psychology trainees at the practicum and postdoctoral levels.
