Garrett Matlick, DNP, MPH, APRN, FNP-BC, PMHNP-BC
Dr. Matlick is a family and psychiatric nurse practitioner working at Community Health Center, Inc. at CHCI’s Stamford location and a graduate of CHCI’s NP Residency ’18-’19 cohort. Beyond management of chronic medical conditions, he treats substance use disorders, HIV, Hepatitis C, and has a split panel of medical and psychiatric visits. In addition to his work as a clinician, he also serves as a faculty member of CHCI's nurse practitioner residency program as a regular preceptor and occasional didactic presenter. His work in post-graduate training extends into accreditation site visits for the Consortium for Advanced Practice Providers (the Consortium). Dr. Matlick's original degree is in photography and music at the University of Arizona after which he joined the Peace Corps as a Community Health Educator in Cambodia from 2010 to 2013. Upon return to the U.S., he obtained his accelerated BSN from the University of Missouri - Kansas City, his MSN-FNP and MPH from Johns Hopkins University, and his DNP-PMHNP from Rush University. He is currently published in the American Journal of Nursing, the Journal of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners, and Issues in Mental Health Nursing.
