Improving Health Outcomes for Black and Brown TQNI2S+ Youth Training (December 5, 2024)
Program Information
This presentation will cover data collected from listening sessions with Black and Brown trans queer, non-binary, intersex, and two spirit (TQNI2+) youth on how to improve health services and the clinic environment in school-based health centers. The specific recommendations mentioned in this webinar, along with additional information on trans-inclusive care, will help providers understand how to improve their patient interactions with this population. In turn, it will give audiences ideas on how to pilot techniques in their clinic spaces to improve health outcomes particularly among the Black and Brown TQNI2+ community.

Learning Objectives
Upon completion of this activity, participants should be able to do the following:
- implement specific strategies in their school-based health centers for TQNI2+ students of color based on the youth’s perspectives to ensure trust and a solid foundation of care is provided to students to improve health outcomes as they navigate the hetero-normative medical field.
- change the way care is given to Black and Brown TQNI2+ students by giving them 3 strategies to implement at their sites to ensure services are trauma informed and equitable.
- improve care to specific populations to ensure services are trauma informed and equitable, which is the ultimate goal of school-based health centers.
