Preliminary Findings from the Statewide CHW Workforce Assessment (October 10, 2025)

Program Information

Participants will learn what CHWs, supervisors of CHWs, CHW training program coordinators, and key informants across the state shared in individual and group interviews about the following topics:

  • Perceptions of the CHW Workforce
  • CHW Skills and Training Needs
  • Primary Concerns Related to the CHW Profession in Ohio

By the end of this session, participants will be able to describe key themes and insights shared by Community Health Workers, their supervisors, CHW training program coordinators, and other key informants across Ohio regarding perceptions of the CHW workforce, identified skills and training needs, and primary concerns affecting the CHW profession statewide.

Target Audience

This activity is appropriate for the following audiences:

  • Community Health Workers
  • Social Workers
  • Nurses
  • Other members of the care team

Learning Objectives

Upon completion of this activity, participants should be able to do the following:

  • Provide statewide training opportunities to between 75-200 CHWs twelve times a year (once a month). This provides a networking experience for CHWs to share learnings and ideas with their peers across the state, which is not currently available outside of this training program in Ohio.
