
Therapeutic Considerations and Conceptualization to Clients’ Social Determinants of Health (February 12, 2025)
Session Information
This session will explore the development of disparities in the US and their impacts on racialized and marginalized communities. Utilizing a social justice framework, the participants will learn about building health equity and community engagement. Participants will also learn about approaches and strategies grounded in cultural humility, the Enhanced National CLAS Standards, Cultural Self-Assessments and other tools designed to improve services and eliminate health disparities.

- Social workers
- Behavioral health providers
Learning Objectives
Upon completion of this activity, participants should be able to do the following:
- Define health disparities and health equity
- Understand and describe the concepts of cultural humility and cultural intelligence
- Describe at least 4 techniques and strategies designed to improve clinical outcomes for clients
