Part 1: Anxiety and Depression in SBHCs (April 30, 2025)

Program Information

In collaboration with the University of Washington's School Mental Health Assessment, Research, and Training (SMART) Center, Washington State's Department of Health (DOH) and the Washington School-Based Health Alliance are excited to present a two-part series aimed at how to work with behavioral health needs in school-based health centers (SBHCs). This specific series is designed for professionals working in SBHCs, to enhance their understanding of early recognition, symptoms, treatment options, and referral resources for anxiety and depression. This is an invaluable opportunity for SBHC staff, and others working with students, to strengthen their knowledge and improve their ability to support students facing various behavioral health challenges.
 
Topics include:

  • Early identification of anxiety and depression in youth
  • Key symptoms to watch for in school settings
  • Available treatment options and evidence-based approaches in an SBHC
  • Referral strategies and resources for connecting students with care
  • Best practices for supporting students

Learning Objectives
