Brightline: Parent Management Training
Program Information
The Parent Management Training course covers the essential practices across several evidence-based parenting manuals including engagement and psychoeducation, skills to enhance the parent-child relationship, skills to reduce problem behaviors and relapse prevention. Specific strategies include antecedent control, monitoring, one on one time, praise, selective attention, commands, rewards, time out, natural/logical consequences and limit setting. The training reviews the specific strategies as well as ways clinicians can adapt and use these practices in their sessions with considerations for different age groups (i.e., younger children vs. young teenagers). It is intended to be a beginner to intermediate-level introduction to the interventions as well as present applications with various case examples.
