Sarah Davidon, Ed.D, M.Ed., BA

For over two decades, Dr. Sarah Davidon has worked to advance children’s mental health policy, strategy, and funding.
Dr. Davidon is faculty at Georgetown University's Thrive Center, where she has advised states and developed funding and policy resources with the Center of Excellence for Infant and Early Childhood Mental Health Consultation and serves as a national advisor for the Early Childhood Comprehensive Systems Technical Assistance and Coordination Center. She also serves as an Ombudsman with the Colorado Office of the Ombudsman for Behavioral Health Access to Care. She previously held an 18-year faculty appointment in the University of Colorado School of Medicine's Department of Pediatrics.
She is the founder and principal consultant of Davidon Consulting, a nationally recognized expert in early childhood and school-age mental health system design and strategy who works with organizations across the country to improve how children's mental health is understood and addressed. She also co-founded a company that combines patient journey mapping, action learning, and the essential conditions of systems change to help mental health organizations and systems identify and address the challenges they face. She has been consulted as a subject matter expert by numerous media outlets, including The Colorado Sun, We Are Teachers, Parents Magazine, and Behavioral Health Business.
She served as a Governor's appointee to the Children's Mental Health Subcommittee of the Colorado Behavioral Health Task Force, has held appointments to the Douglas County (CO) Commissioners' Mental Health Committee, Jefferson County (CO) School Safety and Security Task Force, and Colorado's Behavioral Health Transformation Council, and is past-president of the board of directors of the Colorado Federation of Families for Children's Mental Health.
Dr. Davidon holds a bachelor's degree from Bryn Mawr College, a master's from the Harvard University Graduate School of Education, and a doctorate in Leadership in Educational Equity from the University of Colorado School of Education and Human Development. Outside of work, she serves on a youth mental health nonprofit board of directors, is a federal grant reviewer, volunteers at a senior dog sanctuary, and enjoys the Colorado foothills with her two children.
