This 60-minute webinar provides primary care providers and health center teams with an updated, practical framework for prostate cancer screening that goes beyond the USPSTF “Grade C” recommendation. Participants will examine contemporary approaches to reduce overdiagnosis and overtreatment, including MRI-based biopsy triage and active surveillance for low-risk disease, and review updated evidence from major prostate cancer screening trials. The session will also address common patient misconceptions about prostate cancer and demonstrate how clinician communication can influence patient preferences during shared decision-making. Real-world primary care cases will illustrate how to interpret PSA values in the context of prostate size, benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH), and other benign causes of PSA elevation.
