In 1999 she was appointed Assistant Professor of Clinical Anesthesiology and Clinical Psychiatry at the University of Arizona. She and other colleagues founded the Integrative Pain Center of Arizona in 2002. This community-based pain treatment center was nationally recognized as a Center of Excellence by the American pain Society. Most recently she joined El Rio Health, one of the largest Community Health Centers in the United States, to help found their multidisciplinary Buena Vida Pain Care Program. In her clinical patient care her goal was always to help patients with pain live more functional and happier lives. In addition to providing direct patient care Dr. Archambault has been educating other medical professionals, from a variety of disciplines about the impact that psychosocial factors have on the experience of pain, treatment outcome and how to see that those factors are addressed. This included serving as faculty for Weitzman Institute’s Project ECHO Pain for 11 years. She now joins Weitzman Institute’s ECHO Conversations on Pain. Her goal is to continue to provide education to medical professionals about the impact that psychosocial factors are having on their patients with pain and help providers know how to provide or refer for appropriate care to help their patient have more functional and happier lives.
