Program Information

The National Council for Mental Wellbeing’s Center of Excellence for Integrated Health Solutions, in partnership with the School-Based Health Alliance, is hosting this learning collaborative for community mental health and substance use treatment organizations, including Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinics, to support their partnerships with schools and school-based health centers, and promote and improve youth mental health.

Target Audience

This activity is appropriate for the following audiences:

  • Behavioral health providers
  • Social workers
  • Other care team members

Learning Objectives

Upon completion of this activity, participants will be able to:

  1. Develop a peer learning network with other participants to guide and support their work in embedding behavioral health and integrated healthcare services in schools.
  2. Identify three considerations when building, maintaining, and supporting relationships with schools and school districts.
  3. Create and implement a realistic action plan to integrate what they have learned in the Learning Collaborative and apply it to their organizations.
  4. Discuss the importance of behavioral health services in schools and identify strategies for sustainability. 
  5. Demonstrate an understanding of Social Influencers of Health (SIoH; also known as Social Determinants of Health – SDoH) in the school setting, and be able to apply Justice, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (JEDI) principles in the school context.
