Julia Cogdell, is the Operations and Programs Associate at Primary Maternity Care responsible for internal and external administrative and operational support. Additionally, Julia works with project teams to generate ideas and strategies to improve project outcomes. Julia is a Licensed Master Social Worker and previously worked as a maternity care specialist supporting research efforts focused on perinatal mental health and addressing social determinants of health. Julia earned her bachelor’s degree in neuroscience with a minor in psychology from Temple University. She completed her Master of Social Work (MSW) degree at New York University. Over the course of her seven years working across the spectrum of health care and services, her experience spans research, trauma-informed care, clinical work and NGO engagement. Her clinical work includes providing emotional support and resource connections to individuals with complex, chronic medical conditions and working with youth, and parenting teens to help them secure stable housing. Prior to pursuing her MSW, she was a research assistant at a children’s hospital and multiple labs working on speech and language skills, child development, and mental health research efforts. Julia is passionate about ensuring equitable access and eliminating barriers to care.
