Amy is a maternity care leader focused on care model innovation, community-integrated care, and quality improvement and founder of Primary Maternity Care, a service design and consulting firm based in Connecticut. With a clinical background as a nurse and midwife, Amy has spent her career working to improve maternity care and has particular expertise in primary prevention of cesarean and preterm birth, midwife-led and team-based care models, shared decision making, and physiologic labor and birth practices. Prior to founding PMC, Amy led the development and implementation of clinical, wellness, and quality management programs at Baby+Company, a multi-state network of freestanding birth centers integrated with regional health systems. In this role, she led the redesign of the Baby+Co. Quality Management Program to enable networked continuous quality improvement activities across our 6 ambulatory centers and 5 collaborating health systems and respond in a systemic way to adverse events and improvement opportunities.
