Charmaine Robertson-Stoner is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and the Chief Behavioral Health Officer for Crossing Healthcare, a Federally Qualified Healthcare Center in Decatur Illinois. Crossing Healthcare serves over 20,000 patients annually. Their mission is to provide excellent comprehensive healthcare that is affordable and accessible to the medically underserved. 

With 13 years in the field of Social Work, Charmaine has significant experience assessing and educating on the complex bio-psycho-social factors related to patients with emotional and physical trauma histories, who require mental health support, substance use treatment, and a continuum of care.

At Crossing Healthcare, Charmaine’s role is to oversee the multi-site behavioral health department and to create policies and procedures consistent with Solution Focused Brief Therapy modality of treatment and best practice. Additionally, she provides clinical guidance to therapists and behavioral health staff at the Primary Health Clinic, Crossing Recovery Center, the Medication Assisted Treatment Facility, Transitions Recovery Home, and through the RESTORE & RENEW Program at the Macon County Jail, through the integration of behavioral health services and the medical model of care. Charmaine is instrumental in providing and educating on trauma focused clinical therapy services through use of Trauma Focused-Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and assessing for Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) to new and experienced clinicians and clinical leaders. 

In addition to the aforementioned, Charmaine has also served as an adjunct instructor at the university level, teaching Lifespan Development courses and she continues to facilitate Mental Health and Suicide Prevention, The Neurobiology of Trauma, Mental Illness and Non-Normative Behaviors, and Interacting with Persons with Disabilities courses at the law enforcement training center for recruits and cadets statewide.
