Ms. Wolgin has been pivotal in promoting a professional image of nursing. She has been a role model for other leaders, colleagues, and students. She is a positive person who champions nursing. She enriches the image of nursing with her altruistic attitude and committed convictions. She consistently demonstrates skill and knowledge competence. She is currently vice president of UC’s College of Nursing Alumni Advisory Board and serves on the Children’s Oral Health Network Board, MedCom Advisory Board, Interact for Change Health Scholarship Committee and on the Ohio School-Based Health Alliance Board.
In her career, she has held a variety of leadership and director positions. She worked for University Hospital, held both a nursing clinical faculty and management position at Duke University Medical Center, coordinated educational programs for NC Nurse Executives, was an adjunct faculty at the University of Michigan and University of Cincinnati, and was System Leader for Education and Employee Development at Saint Joseph in Ann Arbor. Her current position is Senior Program Officer with Interact for Health and Executive Director of Growing Well.
In 1998, she received the Belinda Puetz Award from National Nursing Staffing Development Organization, and in 1999 was recognized as a Distinguished Alumna of the University of Cincinnati, College of Nursing. In 2001, she was a graduate of Leadership Ohio. In 2012 Francie was recognized as one of LOTH’s 100 Minds Thought Leaders in the Greater Cincinnati Region. In 2015 the University of Cincinnati awarded her for Outstanding Career Achievement.
Ms. Wolgin provided service with respect for human dignity and the uniqueness of others. She consistently recognizes the strengths in others. This is apparent in her service with patients, staff, colleagues and students. In one of her roles, when there were no culturally appropriate books, she coordinated Brady Prentice Hall photo shoots onsite, recruited diverse staff members and patient models, engaged staff and national content experts, and authored several books that went on to be used nationally to educate nursing assistants and patient care technicians. In her current position, she ensures the school based health centers models reflect respect for students and school staff, and value individuality.
One of her many strengths has been promoting the scholarly activities and professional development of herself and others. In addition to promoting development of nursing students, nursing assistants and patient care technicians, and colleagues, while in a leadership role at a local hospital, she developed a hospital wide 4- tract Management Development curriculum used to grow, educate and promote crew leaders, supervisors, managers and directors. She has published numerous books, chapters and healthcare related articles and has presented at national, regional and local conferences.
