Negasi is an artist, activist and peer educator in Portland. Their lived experience as a Black non-binary person drives their commitment to creating space and generating conversation about activism and advocacy within marginalized communities. Originally starting in LA at the Luskin School of Public Affairs at UCLA, they worked as a recruiter and community engagement specialist for Black MSM who have HIV. Since moving to Portland, Negasi has continued their work and now works with Black & Beyond the Binary Collective as their Program and Events coordinator, as well as youth engagement specialist, working with young people to create community and continue working towards liberation for all.
