Introduction
Cheryl is a current doctoral student pursuing Counseling Psychology at Springfield College in Massachusetts. Additionally, Cheryl has a BA in social science, which is a (interdisciplinary degree in social science and psychology). Cheryl holds a master’s degree in social work, with a concentration in children and families. Cheryl has a clinical independent license in Social Work with over 15 years of experience. As a licensed practitioner, she has worked extensively with diverse populations using therapeutic modalities. Additionally, Cheryl has received specialized training in cultural competency and has all-encompassing experience and training in evidence-based practice, working with children, adolescents, adults, and families.
Private Practice
Cheryl operates a private practice located in Southbury Connecticut. Cheryl is industrious in serving individuals, groups, and families and helping them to reach an optimal standard of life.
Cheryl’s specialty is working with “young people” utilizing practice standards such as treatment algorithms for assessing and treating adolescent behavioral health problems. Some focus areas include psychosocial stress, violence, bullying, conduct disorder/oppositional defiant disorder, cutting/self-mutilation, ADHD, anxiety, trauma, depression, and substance use. Cheryl’s practice includes educational resources for parents providing tips on parenting adolescents that help to promote positive mental health in the stages of development.
E-Therapy
Cheryl has extensive experience providing online therapy, counseling, and coaching modalities. She has conducted online HIPAA-compliant consultations and therapy interventions for patients with physical health and mental health complexities via Telehealth video using evidence-based practice treatment modules.
Specialty areas for adults include life coaching, depression, domestic violence, trauma, loss, anxiety, family therapy, relationship counseling, and personality disorders.
Management/Clinical
Cheryl’s experience includes working at Anthem Health Insurance in the behavioral health department. Cheryl worked as a manager supporting behavioral health needs (Government Business Division- Medicaid). In her previous work, Cheryl managed a team of licensed clinical behavioral health professionals (LCSWs, LPCs, and RNs) in utilization management working closely with behavioral health providers. She offered professional development, coaching, training, and consultative services for the team and worked collaboratively with the physical health team, the medical director- including psychologists and psychiatrists, as well as other stakeholders in case consultation and behavioral health rounds. Cheryl provided clinical case consultation on an individual and group basis for her supervisees.
Program Administration
Her area of expertise is in grant-funded programs, and behavioral school reform for both middle and high school settings working with school administration and personnel. She also comes with an extensive background in children and families, with specialized training in child welfare.
Education/teaching
Lastly, Cheryl has been teaching psychology and social work courses since 2007. Her experience includes teaching at Post University, University of Bridgeport, University of Southern California, (Virtual Academic Center), and Fordham University Graduate School of Social using an evidence-based curriculum for graduate-level social work students. Cheryl is a current faculty member teaching at her Alma Mater, Fordham University for the graduate school of social services in New York in the online program.

Cheryl is the current President of the NASWCT chapter-(National Association of Social Workers) and serves on the Executive Committee. (2022-2024).
Cheryl is a certified coach for the Anthem 360 Leadership Program.
In addition to Connecticut, Cheryl holds an independent clinical license in the states of Massachusetts and Rhode Island.
Cheryl lives in Connecticut and takes advantage of quiet time and spending time with friends and family.
