Jessica Lawson, Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology
Jessica L. Lawson, PhD (she/her/hers) is a clinical psychologist currently working as a program manager for the VA Connecticut Healthcare System Clinical Resource Hub (CRH) and providing evidence based psychotherapy via telemental health to veterans across rural New England. Since 2020, she has held an Assistant Professor academic appointment in the Clinical Educator track in the Department of Psychiatry at Yale School of Medicine. She is an active member of Connecticut Psychological Association (CPA) and highly invested in psychology education and training. Dr. Lawson directs the CRH doctoral practicum training track and alongside her colleagues, as a supervisory team, they have expertise in numerous evidence-based psychotherapies and are active educators, participating in trainings, and providing individual and group supervision. They have collectively built a practicum training program over the past for the past 5 years and train students from doctoral programs across Connecticut. Clinically, she has expertise in behavioral medicine and health psychology particularly for the treatment of sleep, chronic pain, and obesity, eating and weight concerns. Her research interests include outcomes and change in psychosocial variables following treatment for obesity and disordered eating as well as the study of telemental health and implementation science. She enjoys collaborating with colleagues at the VA, Yale and CPA to establish a greater presence and voice for the field of psychology.
