Kate Patterson, PsyD
Since January of 2014, Dr. Patterson has been committed to providing excellent clinical care, training of students, and to the development of programs at the Community Health Center. Dr. Patterson piloted the psychology externship program at CHC in the fall of 2015 with two externs. The program continued to grow as a competitive site in Connecticut, with numerous applicants each year. Dr. Patterson has been in numerous leadership positions within the agency including current positions as Clinical Director of the Lillian Reba Moses Child Guidance Clinic and On Site Behavioral Health Director for Middletown and Clinton. Dr. Patterson is on the leadership team for both psychology externs and psychology postdoctoral residents. Currently, Dr. Patterson facilitates the group supervision for the externs as well as the meeting for the supervisors of externs. She is an active member on the Grant Advisory Council.
Dr. Patterson has spent her professional career working within systems including the correctional system, VA system, as well as directly in underserved communities. Dr. Patterson has significant experience working with those who have experienced substance use and upholds a disease model view regarding the treatment of substance use. Dr. Patterson maintains an active case load both at the Community Health Center in addition to a small private practice. Dr. Patterson specializes in children and adolescents, providing trauma informed and evidenced based care.
