Howard Brown Health: New Clinician Onboarding Series (August - December 2024)
Program Information
Providers often have limited HIV experience prior to joining our practice, so this series addresses predictable gaps in knowledge for new providers including HIV care and testing, selection of HIV treatment, diagnosis of STI’s, and sexual health concerns. Additionally, providers often have limited experience with gender affirming care prior to joining Howard Brown – this series offers two introductory sessions on gender affirming care.

Learning Objectives
Upon completion of this activity, participants should be able to do the following:
- Diagnose HIV accurately using standard diagnostic procedures.
- Interpret and evaluate HIV-related lab tests effectively.
- Manage pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP) and post-exposure prophylaxis (PEP) protocols.
- Provide comprehensive counseling and support to newly diagnosed HIV patients.
- Initiate and oversee HIV treatment regimens, including management of patients experiencing treatment failure.
- Achieve an 80% pass rate on the AAHIVM certification exam.

Registration Instructions
- Create an account with the Weitzman Education Platform if you haven't already. Reference How do I create an account? if needed.
- Select the Register button to register for all sessions, regardless of your attendance.
- Select the session(s) you attended. Within each session, select the Continue tab to complete session evaluations, claim your credits, and download your certificate.
- Once you have attended all sessions in which you intend to participate and completed the session evaluations:
- You can claim credit commensurate with your total attendance for the series as a whole.
- You will then be able to download a certificate appropriate to your credentials.
