Learning Objectives
Upon completion of this activity, participants should be able to do the following:
- Define social determinants of health (SDOH) and discuss how they are important to impacted communities.
- Identify how SDOH status is associated with cancer outcomes, morbidity, and mortality and understand the importance of acknowledging SDOH in our cancer prevention and control efforts.
- Discuss the importance of community health workers discussing SDOH and sharing best practices for how community health workers address SDOH issues or needs that arise with clients.
