Born and raised in Puerto Rico, Iván is a bilingual clinical social worker with Spanish as his first language. He earned a BA in Music Education with a Minor in Psychology from the Interamerican University of Puerto Rico before relocating to the mainland United States. Iván later pursued studies in Music Therapy at Florida State University, eventually shifting focus to complete his MA in Clinical Social Work. He has since worked as a Student Advocate for migrant students for two years, followed by a position at a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC). Iván then moved to Connecticut, where he continued his work in clinical social work while also supervising students at CHC.

Iván proudly identifies as a geek therapist, fully embracing therapeutic training in Dungeons & Dragons and incorporating gaming into therapy. His clinical interests also include the innovative use of technology and modern media, exploring how digital tools, telehealth, and multimedia approaches can enhance the therapeutic process and improve client outcomes.
