Considerations in Becoming a Supervisor (May 12, 2026)
Program Information
This series prepares new supervisors (3 years or less) for the often demanding yet rewarding role as a behavioral health supervisor. Participants will gain knowledge about the foundational factors of supervision as well as receive insight on what they may encounter in this role. Clinicians need to provide excellent care while supporting the incoming generation of behavioral health providers. The series looks to provide discussion from experienced individuals on navigating the supervisory relationship, while maintaining provider resilience. The sessions support a comprehensive approach to behavioral health treatment.
This activity is bi-weekly starting on May 12, 2026. All sessions will occur from 12:30-2 pm EST. Please note that sessions are provided live only and we are unable to provide a refund if you are absent from a session.
Target Audience
This activity is appropriate for the following audiences:
- Psychologists
- Social workers
- Therapy providers
- Any of the above categories who are interested in supervising
Learning Objectives
Upon completion of this activity, participants should be able to do the following:
- Identify major roles and responsibilities of supervisors
- Begin to reflect on what makes a good supervisor
- Consider their own competency and necessary areas of growth as a supervisor
