An Overview of Cancer Prevention and Control (December 6, 2023)
Program Information
The Maryland Assembly School Based Health Care (MASBHC) webinars focus on issues that are impacting school-based health care and the pediatric population today. Topics include screening for sexual health needs, health needs of refugee/immigrant populations, substance use, and cancer prevention.
The webinar series is held monthly between September 2023 and June 2024.

- Discuss cancer rates, trends and cancer disparities in Maryland and the US
- Discuss modifiable cancer risks and ways to reduce the risk of cancer
- Explain the importance of school-based clinics toward the goal of decreasing the cancer burden in Maryland
