This session aims to provide primary care clinicians with a practical approach for initiating buprenorphine in the outpatient setting.

  • Identify indications and contraindications to starting buprenorphine. 

  • Compare various strategies for initiating buprenorphine in the outpatient setting. 

  • Understand the basics of dose adjustment. 

  • Anticipate and respond to possible challenges for patients starting buprenorphine.
