Southeast Ohio Community Health Worker Conference (November 12, 2025)
Program Information
This full-day continuing education program provides community health workers (CHWs) with practical tools and evidence-based strategies to strengthen their professional practice and community impact. Participants will engage in sessions on effective documentation, interpreting statewide CHW workforce assessment results, and understanding the social return on investment of CHW programs. Additional topics include resource navigation and self-care—key components for sustaining wellness and effectiveness in the field. Attendees will also have opportunities for networking, connecting with vendors, and professional development activities such as headshots and resume support.
Afternoon breakout sessions will focus on skill-building in areas directly relevant to CHW practice, including de-escalation techniques, client mental health support, diabetes management, and job readiness. The program will conclude with an in-depth session on trauma-informed care, equipping CHWs to recognize and respond sensitively to trauma in community settings. By the end of the day, participants will have expanded their knowledge, enhanced their confidence, and gained practical tools to improve service delivery and community outcomes.
