Weitzman ECHO Type 1 Diabetes CGM (August 9, 2023)
Program Information
In collaboration between Community Health Center, Inc., the University of Connecticut, and the Weitzman Institute, Weitzman ECHO Type 1 Diabetes seeks to improve the care of Type 1 Diabetes in Latinx patients.
This activity meets every Wednesday from 1-2pm ET.

Learning Objectives
Upon completion of this activity, participants should be able to do the following:
- Identify the different types of insulins for Type 1 Diabetes management
- Name patient-specific factors when selecting insulins
- Describe strategies for adjusting insulins for Type 1 Diabetes management
- Explain the rationale behind using Continuous Glucose Monitoring in Type 1 Diabetes
- Summarize the technological aspects of Continuous Glucose Monitoring
- Clarify the CGM components and functionality
- Detail the logistics of implementing CGM at CHC, including patient payer coverage
- Interpret CGM data and apply it to Type 1 diabetes management
- Understand the cultural factors associated with CGM uptake in Hispanics with Type 1 diabetes
