Monthly Case Discussion Session 1: Demystifying Skin Biopsies (January 2026)

Program Information

PCPs in FQHCs have the responsibility to assure their patients have care for their skin conditions.  An uninsured/underinsured status, difficulty with transportation, and long waits to access specialty care create the need for PCPs to recognize, work-up, and manage many dermatologic conditions.  The educational sessions provided by ConferMED provide a strong foundation to support this need.

Learning Objectives

Upon completion of this activity, participants should be able to do the following:

  • Be able to recognize common benign skin findings and reassure their patients. 
  • Be able to recognize disorganized skin lesions that should be biopsied. 
  • Learn the basics of skin biopsy to decide whether to incorporate them in their practices. 
  • Recognize and manage common dermatological conditions. 
  • Encourage use of eDerm consults to allow PCPs to expand what they can provide for their patients regarding dermatologic care.
