Steve MacHattie, LCSW, RPT, is a clinical social worker, registered play therapist, clinical supervisor, adjunct professor, and owner of Charter Oak Family Center. He has worked extensively with children, adolescents, adults, and families, with a particular focus on trauma, suicide prevention, emotional regulation, and helping people make sense of behaviors that are often labeled before they are understood.

Steve serves on the Connecticut Suicide Advisory Board and co-chairs its Lived Experience Committee. His work in suicide prevention is informed not only by clinical practice and research, but also by his own lived experience
