Kim Shepardson Watson, LCSW, IECHM-Mentor

Kim Shepardson Watson, LCSW, IECHM-Mentor, is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and endorsed Infant and Early Childhood Mental Health (IECHM) Mentor through the Connecticut Association for Infant Mental Health. She has more than 30 years of experience working with infants, young children, and families throughout Southeastern Connecticut and currently maintains a private clinical practice.

Kim specializes in the social-emotional development and mental health of young children and their families, with expertise in assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of children from birth through age six. She is an adoption-competent therapist with extensive experience supporting children, families, and adult adoptees navigating adoption-related issues.

Kim provides Reflective Supervision nationally to professionals working with young children and families and regularly provides training and consultation on topics related to infant and early childhood mental health, attachment, trauma, adoption, and relationship-based practice. Her work emphasizes understanding children's behavior within the context of development and relationships while supporting the adults who care for them.
