May Fianna, LMFT
May started her career as a sexual consent educator and researcher. After graduating with her masters in Marriage and Family at the top of her class, she founded Fianna Family Therapy: a private practice and consulting firm dedicated to serving LGBTQ people and their families. Since its founding, May's practice has provided advocacy, consulting, and education for transgender people in schools, medical clinics, mental health clinics, and workplaces. Her therapy, advocacy, and education draws from systemic, post-modern, post-structural, feminist, and multicultural theoretical frameworks. In her personal life, May is much like an indoor-outdoor cat: being both a homebody and an outdoors enthusiast.
Currently, May is contracted with CHC to provide training and consultation on Transgender cultural competency. May's work with CGC's new wraparound gender clinic - the Gender Diversity and Resilience program - entails supervising clinicians in effective individual and family therapy for trans youth, and providing a multi-year training program for all members of GDR. May is also contracted to provide transgender cultural competency training for the rest of CHC, and will be working across multiple departments to help CHC provide welcoming and effective transgender care.
