Program Information

The overall goal of the series is to provide an opportunity to learn about clinical factors regarding trauma informed care and treating patients with opioid and substance use disorders while also addressing special topics such as group treatment, insomnia in patients, and internal family systems. The series aims to increase clinician knowledge and skills in these areas.

Learning Objectives

Upon completion of this activity, participants should be able to do the following:

Describe how trauma and stress shape clinical presentation and client engagement across individual, family, and group treatment settings.
Demonstrate trauma-responsive assessment and intervention skills by applying principles of trauma-informed practice, motivational interviewing, and sleep-focused behavioral strategies when working with adults, youth, and families.
Apply core therapeutic frameworks and techniques to develop attainable treatment plans.
Identify common challenges in trauma-related and collaborative work.
Implement strategies to maintain clinician effectiveness, support client motivation, and sustain engagement across treatment contexts.
