Conversations on Pain: Opioid Overview (February 20, 2025)
Program Information
Conversations on Pain for Advanced Practice Residents is a once-monthly videoconference that connects new primary care providers with a rotating team of multidisciplinary pain experts for in-depth, personalized learning to improve the care of patients experiencing pain. Residents will have the opportunity to connect in a small, virtual group setting with experts in physical medicine and rehabilitation, behavioral health, alternative medicine, and pharmacology.
During each session, a pain expert will provide a focused didactic and then residents will have the opportunity to ask questions and share case challenges for discussion with the expert and peer residents from across the country. Topics in the 10-month didactic curriculum will include pain exams, psychological approaches to pain management, headaches, and safe opioid prescribing. Participants will have the opportunity to bring their case-based questions and challenges, as each session will provide a space for conversation with one or more of the expert team members.
