Weitzman ECHO Substance Use Health 2025

Program Information

January - March: This activity meets on the 4th Tuesday of the month from 1-2pm ET.

April - December: This activity meets on the 3rd Tuesday of the month from 1-2pm ET.

This program provides front-line primary care clinicians and team members with the support and expert advice they need to gain confidence in treating substance use disorders with an integrated care approach. Topics covered in the series include medications for the treatment of opioid use disorder (e.g., methadone, buprenorphine, and naltrexone) and alcohol use disorder, polysubstance use, xylazine and other adulterants, toxicology screening and interpretation, trauma-informed care, harm reduction, motivational interviewing, and care coordination. In addition to didactic presentations on these high-value topics, each session also offers participants the opportunity to present real life patient cases and receive recommendations from the expert faculty and their peers in the program. Together, participants and the faculty build a community of practice that strengthens the capacity of primary care medical and behavioral health providers to provide care for patients with substance use disorders.
