
Thundermist Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) Didactics 2026
Program Information
The Thundermist MAT didactics have been designed to present educational materials on the post graduate level. All topics were specifically chosen with the goal is to assist the new graduate FNPs and PMHNPs in the process of moving from a novice practitioner to a competent, proficient Nurse Practitioner. These didactics were developed via an Integrated Substance Use Disorder Training Program (ISTP) grant and are in partnership with the Brown University Addiction Medicine Department. Some of the topics include: Opioid Use Disorder, Alcohol Use Disorder, Methadone 101, Co-Occurring Psychiatric and Substance Use Disorders, Overdose Prevention Centers, and Practical Harm Reduction for IV Drug Users.
This activity meets weekly on Thursdays from 1-2pm EST.

Learning Objectives
Upon completion of this activity, participants should be able to do the following:
- Accurately assess, diagnose, treat, and evaluate behavioral health conditions, psychiatric conditions, and substance use disorders
- Dispel the Imposter Syndrome and achieve greater confidence and competence in their practice
- Successfully function within a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals (particularly in an FQHC setting)
- Consult and collaborate with team members
